(ATLANTA) January 27 – A gathering of community organizers, elected officials and concerned citizens will convene at Centennial Park this Friday, January 29, from 7pm- 8pm to remember the lives of over 150,000 Haitians killed in the tragic 7.0 earthquake that devastated the country on January 12.
Civil Rights Leader Congressman John Lewis will give remarks along with Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall and Saurel Quettan from the Haitian Alliance, which will be collecting medical supplies and non-perishable foods for the earthquake relief effort (for a complete list of needed items, visit www.transformhaiti.org). Cash will not be accepted at this event.
